See you at FAIR

July 27, 2008    By: Jacob J @ 9:13 pm   Category: Life

Living in Oregon I don’t get to many of the various conferences, but as it turns out I will by in Utah this year during the FAIR conference on Aug 7th and 8th (since my brother in law is getting back from a mission that week) so I am going! I attended the FAIR conference one other time a few years back and it was a great time so I am looking forward to it this year. As usual, I see some bloggernaclers on the program and in particular I’m excited to see what Blake, Brian, and JimF do under the title Philosophy and Mormonism.

Who else has plans to be there?

  1. I’m not going to be there. They asked me to be on the program and I had to respectfully decline. I just didn’t want to make the other presenters feel (or fill) intellectually inferior. I’m nice that way.

  2. That’s funny, I had a similar exchange with the people putting together the conference, but they said they would still be honored to have me attend even though I turned down the opportunity to present. Wish you guys were going, that would be fun.

  3. Hey, that means your wife is going to be in the area, too, right? I’m going to FAIR, which means I’ll be in Sandy…tell S. that I’d love to see her. If she has time–I know how busy family events get. See you there!

  5. I’ll be there. Somehow I’ve managed to make it to every one so far, including the very first one, at which I presented, in a relief society room in California. My how it has grown since then!

  6. I’ll be in Washington two days after the conference.

Say hello to everyone for me. We are bypassing Utah this year or I’d have gotten things moved around so I could drop in.

  8. To everyone not going, I’m sad to hear it. I’ll try to take some notes Matt, but I am traditionally bad at note taking.

    Keryn,

Awesome, we’ll have to hook up. I passed on your message to S.

    Kevin,

I’m a big fan. I’ll try to find some time when you are not being mauled by admirers so I can come shake your hand and say hello.

    Kent,

Absolutely, I’ll be looking for you.

  11. It was pretty good, I thought. By the way, those who want Blake’s newest book can buy it from the FAIR bookstore. They have about 10 copies left or so. If it isn’t listed in the catalog, just email the bookstore.

  12. By the way, Blair provided an extremely detailed post on his blog regarding each session. Thanks Blair!
