Where Oh Where Has My Little Geoff Gone?

January 18, 2006    By: Kristen J @ 11:22 pm   Category: Life

I miss Geoff. I have heard that he has gone to the kingdom of Timesandseasonia. I wish he’d come back and I’m sure my fellow bloggernaclers are ready for a break from my yammerings.

You know how on movies one character will say to the other, “If I’m not back in 5 minutes go get help!”? He’s been gone a long time now. Do you think I should go get help? Do you think he’s ever coming back to the thang?

If he’s not coming back I may have to redecorate. Make it a little less “last year’s BYU colors”. I’m thinking chocolate brown and robin’s egg blue. What do you think?

Hhhmmm…If you run into him could you tell him that I’m looking for him? Maybe ask him if he wants me to forward his mail?

  1. So you HAVE been slipping him trays of food beneath the door! I was wondering on a thread at T&S if he was slavishly pounding away at the keyboard 24/7 to get all these posts out!

Better make him give you a really good Valentine’s Day!

  2. I prefer to look at Geoff’s sojourn at T&S like Lot staying in Sodom, so that the city is not destroyed by God.

  3. I like the chocolate brown idea, but have you considered pairing it with pink?

  4. Kristen, I think we’d better form a rescue party and raid T&S. They’re probably holding Geoff hostage — or, worse still, forcing him to undergo Clockwork Orange-like psychological reconstruction! How can we let them (hypothetically) do such a thing to our friend? We must take immediate, violent action!

  5. See, more evidence of my paranoia: T&S has obviously created a Geoff-impersonating robot!!!

  6. Oh thanks RT! I was getting a little nervous about the whole thing and now I’m just totally freaked out! What kind of immediate, violent action did you have in mind?

Sarebear, I’ve been sending cakes with files hidden in them!

CJones, I love brown and pink together. I know the blue and brown sound a little odd together but I have an interior designer friend who used this combination in her bedroom and it looks fabulous.

  7. Geoff? Who’s Geoff?

  8. Ned, that’s nice of Geoff to try and save us, but for all Lot’s effort it didn’t really pan out for Sodom in the end.

  9. Dear Kristen,

Camp is going great. My host family has been very kind and gracious and I’m meeting all sorts of nice new people. I hope all is well back home at the Thang. I’ll be home soon.

    Love,
    G

  10. I don’t know why Geoff would have left, what did you do to drive him away? Obviously “New Cool Thang” used to be his first love (ok maybe 2nd love) and now he’s gone! Something must have happened.

    We miss him too.

  11. I don’t know don. I made himego to Michael’s and Joann’s with me one day and he was never the same after that.

  12. How about chocolate brown with a hint of tropical floral, for spring? It could have some robin’s egg blue *and* some coral pink in there.

…isn’t this every husband’s nightmare, seriously? Come back after an extended absense and his home has been made over into a happenin’ chicks’ dive?

  13. My friend is getting ready to do a room in robin’s egg blue and chocolate. She has pictures to inspire her, and I know it’ll be gorgeous. Go for it.

  14. I painted my room robin’s egg blue four years ago, and stained all the furniture dark brown, with lots of brown/earthy accessories. It’s gorgeous, casual and beachy. I think it’s a great combination.

  15. …and come to think of it, I started painting that room on a day when I knew my husband would be working late. He came home to big swaths of blue painted over the beige. I told him if he didn’t like it, I could always change it back. ;)

Get it done while he’s gone, Kristen!

  16. You guys may have inspired me to do it!

  17. I never knew there was such a color as robin’s egg blue… Wasn’t it called teal in the 90s?

    Comment by ToddC — January 19, 2006 @ 9:37 pm

  18. Um, no ToddC! Teal is MUCH darker than robin’s egg blue! Sheesh!

  19. Well then my prom date in 1985 was wearing a robin’s egg blue dress. Also, our carpet wasn’t mauve it was pink. Just kidding your redecorating skills are right on. I get the feeling I am looking at a fancy mail order catalog.

  20. I think we all wore teal/robin’s egg blue dresses to prom back then.

Thanks for the compliments, I don’t think this look will last once Geoff is officially back.
