I never thought I’d miss you… half as much… as I do

Well kids my time at camp is coming to a close. It has been loads of fun and I met lots of super cool kids, but I have missed y’all back here at the Thang too.

I have one more post planned for T&S. It is going to be on personal revelation. You’d think that after writing more than 20 posts on the subject it would be a snap, but none of my ideas have felt right yet. So I continue to play spiritual Red Light – Green Light with my ideas. So far I have had all red lights from God. I will keep trying until I get a green light though. I mean you can’t really write a proper post on personal revelation without first getting a little personal revelation, right? If there is an angle you think I should take let me know this weekend!

As you can see, I set the Thang back in order. I don’t know about you, but Kristen’s replacement colors made me a little queasy. (Kudos to Snarky for busting out one of my all time favorite Simpsons lines as the title for his snark on it though! Plus you have to admire his foresight in preserving the neapolitan look for posterity. (BTW — the wikipedia article on neapolitan ice cream has a great line about how it is “frequently confused for “Napoleon ice cream” which does not exist.”) ) Maybe we’ll mess with the design again here some time.

And kudos to Kristen for picking up the slack around here with loads of excellent and fun posts!

Anyway, I’ve been looking for a reason to add “It Must Be Love” by Madness here at the Thang so be sure to check it out too.

  1. Welcome back.

Have you ever addressed patriarchal blessings in your posts on personal revelation? Also, I find that as the decades march on, it is as though more of the blessing is “revealed” to me, that is, there are things that I never realized, and wonder how I couldn’t have, but then at the same time, sometimes it takes life experience to grow to a point where you can receive the next line upon line, precept upon precept . . . A month ago or so, something fairly big that I had NEVER known about something it says in mine, hit home. Well, fairly big to me, anyway. And it was the coolest thing, to still be receiving insight and revelation via the Holy Ghost, from my patriarchal blessing that I received when I was 13. That it felt, in essence “time” that I had this new perspective on something; that I had this concept revealed to me.

Woops. Guess I kinda did my own little post there on personal revelation and patriarchal blessings; the gift that keeps on giving . . . (Ooooo, that’d make a cool post title on the subject!)

  8. Hey thanks Ed… The radio connection with the posts is one of my favorite things about the Thang but I wonder is anyone else notices sometimes…

Sheesh Kristen — You get to be cool; can’t I at least be Thang-ish? ;-)

I remembered that Susan. Good choice.

Sorry meems — I couldn’t take it anymore with the neapolitan thing

Thanks Sarebear. I am getting a feel for my angle with that post now…

Now Geoff, I’ve had a suspicion for a few months now that YOU are the snarker (or at least one of them if there be many). I didn’t want to say anything because if I’m wrong I look stupid and if I’m right I’d be giving you up. Well it’s out now so come what may.

  10. Goeff, just admit it, you are the Snarker.

Oh, and Jeffrey Giliam, thanks for admiting ur stupid.
