{"id":2017,"date":"2010-04-01T22:56:31","date_gmt":"2010-04-02T05:56:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newcoolthang.com\/?p=2017"},"modified":"2020-01-09T04:55:43","modified_gmt":"2020-01-09T11:55:43","slug":"pre-survey-popular-mormon-belief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newcoolthang.com\/index.php\/2010\/04\/pre-survey-popular-mormon-belief\/2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Pre-Survey: Popular Mormon Belief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am going to do another Survey soon, but as I have no peers with which to review my question set, I thought I&#8217;d pass them by any readers out there for thoughts on the phrasing of the statements.<\/p>\n<p>Each statement will be answers with a Likert scale ranking from strongly disagree to strongly agree.<\/p>\n<p>Statements will be as follows:<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\nThere is no contradiction between the theory of evolution and my religious beliefs<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nMankind has a common ancestor with other forms of primates<\/p>\n<p>The spirits of man have always existed<\/p>\n<p>God fashioned the spirits of man from a substance we call intelligence<\/p>\n<p>Before God gave us our spiritual bodies, we were eternal beings called intelligences<\/p>\n<p>Christ suffered as a punishment for our sins<\/p>\n<p>Christ suffered to gain understanding to help us<\/p>\n<p>Christ suffers because it hurts him to be in a relationship with sinful creatures<\/p>\n<p>Adam is our Father in Heaven<\/p>\n<p>God the Father has a Father<\/p>\n<p>There is an infinite regress of Gods<\/p>\n<p>Our spirit bodies were created via spirit birth<\/p>\n<p>There is a Heavenly Mother<\/p>\n<p>Heavenly Mother is Heavenly Father\u2019s perfect equal in every way<\/p>\n<p>Polygamy will be restored to the church<\/p>\n<p>Polygamy was a necessary concept to go through in order to reach the higher law of eternal families<\/p>\n<p>The Bible is literal and not figurative<\/p>\n<p>The Earth was created in 7 24 hour periods<\/p>\n<p>People who are excommunicated from the church are doomed to outer darkness<\/p>\n<p>People who are baptized via proxy in the temple can go to the celestial kingdom<\/p>\n<p>The Husband is the ultimate leader of the family, and the wife submits to him<\/p>\n<p>Women will someday hold the priesthood<\/p>\n<p>Portions of the temple which make men and women seem unequal are either misunderstood or misstated currently.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Please let me know if you feel like any of the phrasings here are leading questions which would skew the results.
