Dealing with my Dad&#8217;s terminal cancer was much more stressful than I anticipated and his final days and funeral were extremely sad and exhausting to me and everyone in my family.  Throw in immediate and extended family dynamics and you&#8217;ve got a humdinger of a time.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Just recently there was another death in my family.  This one was a little less stressful because it was my 91 year old grandmother.  While I wasn&#8217;t very close to her making the trip and helping my mother get through this emotional time was not easy.<\/p>\n<p>There have been other stressful things in life too:  neighbors, work, business, world affairs, callings, fellow ward members, the usual stuff.  So I decided that I wanted to do a happy post.  I would like you to tell me about good things that are happening in your lives.  Kind of like the Relief Society&#8217;s &#8220;Good News Moment&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll start with a few of my own.  The first good thing is having my mom stay with us.  It has been great because she is so good with my kids.  My children adore her and they have been having a wonderful time with her.  It&#8217;s nice to have fresh energy and ideas when it comes to entertaining little ones during the summer time.<\/p>\n<p>My mom has also been doing my laundry!  Life doesn&#8217;t get any better than that.  She has been trying to teach my kids that clothing doesn&#8217;t have to be thrown in the laundry bin just because it&#8217;s been taken out of the drawer, and cleaning your room doesn&#8217;t entail throwing all of your clothes, clean or dirty, into the hamper.  I&#8217;m hoping that she&#8217;ll have them properly trained by the time she leaves.<\/p>\n<p>Another good thing in my life is my decision to become a Sun Devil.  I&#8217;ve applied, been accepted, and registered for the pre-art program for the coming fall.  I really went back and forth with it for a while but I&#8217;ve finally decided that I&#8217;m going to go for it.  I&#8217;m not taking very many classes each semester so it may take me 50 years to get through the program but life is about the journey, right? <\/p>\n<p>There you have it, KJ&#8217;s good news moments.  Even though life has been hard lately I have many more that I could share with you.
