It seems that most of us spend a lot of time whining over the bad things in life. I know I have done my share of wishing for a new day when I will be a college graduate, or I can quit this crappy job, or have a baby, or have the baby sleep through the night. The list could go on for quite some time. It’s a hard urge to fight, yet fight we must because “men are that they might have joy.”<\/p>\n
Today I’ve been thinking about the things in life that have brought me joy and I’d like to list them here:<\/p>\n
Birfday parties and being the birfday girl
\nPicking blackberries on the way to school
\nClimbing really high in a big tree
\nGetting an actual part in the school play (not stuck back in the chorus)
\nSitting in a big, fat tube floatin’ down a lazy river
\nGetting your first love note
\nMaking the team
\nWildflowers
\nA song you like so much you listen to it about a hundred times in a row (my kids hate it when I do this)
\nSuper chubby babies
\nArt (creations of man, not a guy named Art)
\nHolding hands with a boy for the first time
\nLetters from friends in your mailbox
\nBooks
\nFinding long lost money in your pocket
\nLearning things you thought you were too old to (playing piano and skateboarding)
\nSwimming under water
\nDave Barry, Erma Bombeck, funny people in general
\nMy baby laughing hysterically every time I try to brush her teeth
\nPeople saying my daughter looks like me
\nMy son’s belly laugh
\nCanoodling with my husband
\nErin’s long golden locks
\nGetting answers to prayers<\/p>\n
This list could go on for quite some time too but enough about me, how about you.
